President of Math Matters
John Hinton teaches math methods at Long Island University in Brookville, New York. He has also taught at Hofstra University and St. Johns University. He has several years of experience at all levels of education in the United States and Canada as a teacher and school administrator. John has presented his unique interactive approach to teaching mathematics at several state and national math conferences. He serves as a national consultant to many schools and provides staff development math workshops and seminars. John has authored six books on mathematics including Math Works: Games, Puzzles and Diversions for the Classroom and Math Links: Connecting Mathematics and Literature. He is the publisher of Math Matters, a national journal of math games for elementary and middle school teachers. He resides in Westbury, New York and Celebration, Florida with his wife Elaine, a retired elementary school teacher.
